What Are The Four Types Of Damping?

In engineering vibration reduction, four core damping types form the technical foundation of our natural rubber counterweights:

1. Viscous Damping (Core): Molecular friction in rubber turns vibration energy into heat. It works best at higher frequencies and can easily absorb small, high-frequency vibrations.

2. Coulomb Damping (Auxiliary): Dry friction between the counterweight and the equipment uses up energy, which keeps the equipment from moving and makes it more stable.

3. Structural Damping (Performance Guarantee): Rubber has built-in molecular friction that keeps vibrations down even when the frequency is low and the amplitude is high. This is better than metals and plastics.

4. Inertial Damping (Advantage Amplification): The mass of the counterweight increases the system's inertia, which works with the rubber damping to create "weight fixation + vibration and noise reduction."

Natural rubber provides both viscous damping and structural damping. When you add the weight of the counterweight and the friction from installation, you get four times the vibration reduction effect.

High-frequency vibration in compressor copper pipes makes noise and causes pipes to wear out and leak because of friction. This happens in air conditioners, heat pumps, and other equipment. Traditional fixation methods often don't do a good job of balancing vibration damping and friction resistance, and they can fail to protect because of eccentricity.

Our natural rubber counterweights are made to fix this problem. Made from natural rubber with a scientific mix of fillers that add weight and anti-aging systems, they provide effective damping, long-term stability, and durability. We suggest using special straps to keep the protective rubber blocks in the best positions so they don't become eccentric.

All of our products go through strict tests for ROHS, phthalates, and other harmful substances. None of these substances were found, and they all meet international environmental standards for worry-free export. We have more than 50 standard models with outer diameters ranging from 5.5mm to 36.4mm and weights ranging from 4g to 142.7g. We also support custom development.

Whether for air conditioners, heat pumps, or dehumidifiers, our natural rubber counterweights provide reliable protection for compressor copper pipes. Contact us today to access detailed selection guides and tailored solutions.
